Animals have always been part of our collective imaginaries, and artistic production is a good testimony of this. In this guided tour, the links between animals and the world of art will be explored; revealing, in this way, the multiple meanings that have been attributed to the beasts: from ancient legends and the fauna of the medieval era – from the Christian and profane spheres – to popular culture, literary and cinematographic culture.
