Known by the name of the Master of Estamariu is an anonymous Catalan painter – probably the artist Arnau Pintor – recorded in La Seu d'Urgell between 1357 and 1385, by whom are conserved a group of works that show a clear formal similarity. His style has popular roots although it shows the calm and serene influence of the Italianate Gothic style prevalent at the time. The works conserved suggest that he worked mainly in the 'comarques' of L'Alt Urgell and El Pallars Sobirà during the second half of the 14th century. His best-known work is the altarpiece from Sant Vicenç in Estamariu (Alt Urgell), kept in the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. The predella in the Museu Episcopal de Vic shows the three-quarter figures of the Virgin and the Child and those of holy martyrs holding the palm leaves of martyrdom; of them, we can identify Saint Catherine (?), Saint Margaret, Saint Apollonia, Saint Lucy and Saint Ursula.
